One of the most important ways in which we can bridge the geographic gap between those working with dance and technology is by developing a forum for interaction between us. We encourage you to subscribe (information below) if you work with dance and technology and would like to take part in the discussion, or even if you would just like to listen in.
A list server uses email to allow a large group of people to carry on a discussion. The process begins when interested parties subscribe to a particular list (see below for instructions on how to do this). To send a comment to the entire group, an individual sends their email to the list server which automatically forwards a copy to all of those who subscribe to the list.
Send email to lists@dancetechnology.org with the words
subscribe dance-tech Your Name
in the body of the message (Not the subject line, the list server ignores any information in the subect line.) In place of the words Your Name are replaced by, you guessed it, your name. You should very soon receive an email notification from the list processor that informs you that you have been added to the list.
Once you have subscribed, you can direct an email message to the group by sending it to: dance-tech@lists.acs.ohio-state.edu.
Once you are on the list, you can remove yourself simply. Just Send email to lists@dancetechnology.org with the words
unsubscribe dance-tech
in the body of the message (Again, not the subject line, the list server ignores any information in the subect line.) You will be removed from the list and receive no further mail from the dance-tech list server.
Once you have subscribed, you can direct an email message to the group by sending it to: dance-tech@dancetechnology.org.
For further information, ask the server for the help file by sending mail to lists@dancetechnology.org with the words
help
in the body of the message.
